Originating as her fathers tool supply company, the name Scheidindustrial holds fond memories for Metal Smith Kate Scheid. As a kid, Kate recalls exploring the endless aisles of the San Francisco based warehouse finding pliers and different odds and ends to aid in her beading hobby. While the old Scheidindustrial is now closed, the name lives on, representing Kate's creative metal work. 

 In her work, Kate draws inspiration from her travels, jewelry of ancient cultures, the industrial district of San Francisco, nature, hardware store findings, rocks, textiles, meditation and yoga. By using a mixture of techniques, metals, stones and repurposed materials, Kate creates one of a kind pieces.
